Haven of Light
Hafen o Oleuni

Haven of Light is a charitable organisation based in North Wales, UK. We collaborate with community and faith groups, schools and colleges to educate and raise awareness about human rights and global justice issues.
Our work started in 1990 in Eastern and South Eastern Europe through various development and humanitarian projects.
We believe in the rights of all people to live in freedom with dignity and respect. Every person should be able to work and to provide for their loved ones, to be educated and live in a place of safety. All people have the equitable right to be free from oppression and suffering caused by broken systems and criminal activities.
One of our main areas of work focuses on the international fight against modern slavery, exploitation and human trafficking including grassroots action, education and awareness, as well as advocacy and supporting vulnerable people and survivors of abuse.
It is good for everyone to take time to consider resetting our own ‘moral compass’ and think about what it means to be an active part of our local and global communities.
Haven of Light works to highlight issues of injustice while empowering, enabling and encouraging others to act and bring about change.
We believe that kindness, empathy and standing ‘in the gap’ for and alongside those who may be marginalised or vulnerable is an important responsibility and challenge. People of goodwill and those with a living faith have a significant role to play in the affecting the ‘spheres of influence’ of daily life.
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should thus act towards one another.”
Declaration of Human Rights 1948
